Valhalla Valkyries
Women’s Kickboxing in Cambridge
Real kickboxing. Female coaches. A team of women behind you.
Valhalla Valkyries is our women-only kickboxing program created for women who want to learn real kickboxing skills in a welcoming, supportive training environment.
You don’t need to be fit before you start. You don’t need any martial arts experience. And you definitely don’t need to know how to fight. That’s what we’re here to teach you.
More Than a Workout
Valkyries isn’t a cardio class with a few punches and kicks added in.
-
Proper punching and kicking technique
-
Combinations and footwork
-
Padwork and heavy-bag training
-
Defence and movement
-
Conditioning for combat sports
-
Partner drills and technical development
You’ll get fitter, stronger and more confident along the way — but the focus is on learning kickboxing and continually improving your skills.
Built for Beginners
Never worn boxing gloves before? Perfect.
Our coaches will teach you from the beginning and help you progress at your own pace. There’s no expectation to already be fit, flexible or coordinated. Everyone starts somewhere, and our experienced members remember exactly what their first class felt like.
At Valhalla, we train together and help each other improve.
Women Coaching Women
Valkyries is coached by women who train in combat sports themselves and understand that walking into a martial arts gym for the first time can feel intimidating.
Our goal is to give women a place where they can learn, ask questions, make mistakes, work hard and become genuinely good at kickboxing without feeling like they have something to prove.
Train for Your Goals
Some Valkyries come because they want a new way to get fit.
Some want to learn how to kickbox.
Some love hitting pads after a stressful day.
Some eventually want to spar or compete.
There’s room for all of them.
You can train recreationally for as long as you like, or if you decide you want to take your training further, our coaches can help you progress into additional classes, sparring and competitive training when you’re ready.
Strong Women Build Strong Women
One of the best parts of Valkyries is the team around you.
You’ll train alongside women of different ages, backgrounds, fitness levels and experience — all working toward their own goals while supporting each other.
We take the training seriously.
We just don’t take ourselves too seriously.
Expect hard rounds, plenty of encouragement, new friendships and probably a lot of laughing between combinations.
Open to ages 14+
Your First Class Is Free
Thinking about kickboxing but not sure if it’s for you?
Come and try a Valkyries class before deciding.
No experience required. We’ll show you everything you need to know.
Train with purpose. Train together. Train like a Valkyrie.
Meet the coach
Gail was born in Northumberland, England, where she started her martial arts journey. She didn’t take up Taekwondo until she was 21 but fell in love with the discipline immediately. She trained in England & competed for 11 years in the sport, reaching 3rd Dan Black Belt during that time.
After moving to Canada in 2008, Gail made the switch to kickboxing. Initially, the draw to kickboxing was purely for fitness, but after much deliberation, she decided to start competing in the sport. After her first fight she was hooked. She started attaining success through her passion! Over the years, Gail fought on a provincial, national & international level where she won many awards including Gold at the Arnold Classic. At the height of her fighting career, Gail represented Canada at the World Championship in Italy where she won.
Now happily retired from fighting, Gail’s focus has moved solely to coaching. From helping clients who want to get fit, to fighters aiming for competitive success of their own, her vast amount of experience always brings the best results regardless of the overall goal. To ensure every person receives the best training Gail is always improving her skill set and is currently studying for a diploma in sports & fitness nutrition. Gail is looking forward to passing on her passion for the sport as a coach along with building an amazing team at Valhalla MMA.
